Death Penalty Resources
Witness to InnocenceSince 1973, 122 people throughout the United States
have been exonerated of the crimes which put them on death row. Our
broken death penalty system puts us in constant danger of killing
innocent people.
The Witness to Innocence project will let you hear the voices of the
exonerees. Who are they? How could this happen to them? How could we
let it happen?
Visit the Witness to Innocence project to learn about the exonerees
and to find out how you can host a speaking event.

Death Penalty Focus is one of the largest organizations in the nation dedicated to the abolition of capital punishment. It works through public education; grassroots and political organizing; original research; media outreach; local, state and nationwide coalition building; and the education of religious, legislative and civic leaders about the death penalty and its alternatives.
Catholics Against Capital Punishment
An organization whose goal is to promote greater awareness of Catholic Church teachings that characterize capital punishment as unnecessary, inappropriate and unacceptable in today's world. It does this in the following ways:
- By disseminating news of Catholic-oriented anti-death penalty efforts through its newsletter, CACP News Notes, and its website.
- By communicating the Church's teachings on the issue to federal and state lawmakers, especially those who are Catholic, urging them to resist proposed legislation imposing or extending the use of the death penalty, and to work for repeal of such laws currently on the books.
- By encouraging members of the Catholic hierarchy, clergy and religious groups to speak out more forcefully against capital punishment.
Amnesty USA's Program to Abolish the Death Penalty seeks to end the cycle of violence created by a system riddled with economic and racial bias and tainted by human error.
